From the second half, Brazilians will have an additional option of coins of R $ 1. The National Monetary Council (CMN) approved on Thursday (24) the creation of a 60th central bank commemorative currency (BC).
In a statement, the BC reported that the currency will have free circulation in the economy. The institution did not provide further details. He only reported that the images of future currency will only be released until the beginning of August.
“The National Monetary Council approved the launch of the commemorative currency of the 60th anniversary of the creation of the Central Bank of Brazil. The currency will have a normal course in the economy and value of $ 1.00. More details will be released between the end of July and early August,” says the BC note.
Also attending the 60th anniversary ceremony of the BC the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB); Senate, David Alcolumbre (Brazil-AP Union), and the Ministers of Finance, Fernando Haddad; of planning and budgeting, Simone Tebet; of the work, Luiz Marinho; and justice, Ricardo Lewandowski.
The creation of the commemorative currency was the only vote at CMN’s ordinary meeting in April. Collegiate body chaired by Haddad, the CMN is also composed of Galipolo and Simone Tebet.
