The number of eligible questions for applicants to answer increased from 2,000 to 60 and a practical exam was established, among other changes.
Most of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS) met, virtually, on the night of Thursday, February 17, 2022 to reform the regulation that will guide the designation of State Comptroller General.
This dignity, by law, should take office on March 15, 2022. But for the lawyer Mauricio Alarcón, this process will be several months late because after having the regulation will come the formation of citizen commissions that will be responsible for the designation.
There are 40 modifications approved by the tip with four votes in favor and the absence of the three minority votes corresponding to David Rosero, Sofía Almeida and Juan Javier Dávalos.
Main changes
- The bank of eligible questions for the written exam increased from 2,000 to 60
- Removed the article that allowed the publication of the question bank 48 hours before the written exam
- A practical (oral) exam was established that will be graded on 20 points
- It was established that the merits of the applicant are equivalent to 50 points
- It was determined that the written exam is graded out of 30 points
- Knowledge of other languages adds 1 point
- The obligation to present a psychological certificate was eliminated
These changes were approved by the 4 councilors almost at the same time that, in the Assembly, the CAL accepted the request for impeachment of the members of the CPCCS for having made a previous modification to the regulation to elect a new Comptroller, in August 2021. (GVL)
