Víctor Sepúlveda, president of the National Federation of Subcontracted Workers (Fenatrasub) of the National Oil Company (Enap) referred to the continuity of the strike this Sunday, noting that “half an hour ago Pamela Sanhueza, Enap’s people manager, called me. , who was previously at the meeting where a summary of the petition was delivered, to tell me that the petition was sent to the board of directors, and that there is still no response”.

The Fenatrasub leader added that “the main and urgent thing is to formalize the negotiation table (with ENAP), that is the starting point for all (…) we are waiting and will continue to wait.”

When asked about the company’s intentions to accept the request, he indicated that “personally, and on behalf of the workers, I hope that this is Enap’s intention. We believe that this coming week cannot go beyond resolving this mobilization.”

Sepúlveda questioned that ENAP accused the workers of being responsible for a shortage. “We have been made to believe that because of this movement the community has suffered a fuel shortage. For the 27F earthquake, that plant fell for six months and ENAP did have fuel. We have been on strike for five days and they have tried to hold the workers responsible for a shortage that is not true, ”he lashed out.
