Starting this Friday, January 9, the countdown begins for users to link their mobile phone lines with some of their official identification documents, such as the INE credential and the Unique Population Registry Code (CURP).
This new registration measure occurs after on December 8, 2025 the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT) approved and issued the guidelines for the identification of mobile telephone lines, with the aim of combating crimes such as extortion, kidnapping, trafficking and other criminal activities, because by being associated the lines seek to eliminate the anonymity that allows this service to be used to commit illicit activities.

This process can be carried out in person at the mobile operators’ service centers or remotely through a link to the Management Platform.
The deadline to link the telephone line with the official identification is at the end of June.
The telephone lines Those who do not have the link will be disabled as of July 1 of this year and will only be able to make calls to emergency numbers, citizen assistance and the service provider, as well as receive alert messages.
