Mobile attack on David Ortiz is still not clear

The cause that gave rise to the physical aggression that almost cost the life of the former Major League star, david ortiz, after the sentence that condemned ten of the 13 defendants, it was not clear. According to the ruling of the three judges of the First Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo, the attack was aimed at Sixto David Fernandez, but the motive was not established.

When reading the opinion, Judge Elizabeth Rodríguez Espinal, president of the court, maintained that “only that part (the motive)” of the process remains controversial, but that the plan and all the criminal intelligence carried out by the convicted persons to materialize the attack It could be proven with the evidence presented.

He explained that Víctor Hugo Gómez, discharged as the intellectual author of the crime against Fernández and who ended up seriously injuring Big Papi, presented as a defense thesis that “it was” a conflict that could have had as its root “a skirt problem” between Julio César de la Hoz and his cousin Sixto David”.

“The three of us have no doubt that you (Julio César de la Hoz) are responsible for these events and that you benefited greatly from the deal you made with the Public Ministry,” added.

De la Hoz was one of the eight defendants who reached an agreement with the prosecuting body. He was sentenced to five years in prison to be served in La Victoria.

According to the ruling, Rodriguez de la Motaanother of the ten found guilty, was the one who was in the bar observing the execution where the former Major League player was wounded and “he had full control of who the victim was, quite serious facts”. Rodríguez de la Mota was the one who contacted the inmate of the prison at kilometer 15 of Azua, Jose Eduardo Ciprian, to whom he offered 30 thousand dollars to recruit the hitmen to commit the crime. Ciprián was given ten years in prison.
