MLB postseason: Andy Pagés lights the dodgers spark

The MLB postseason did not start in the best way for Cuban Andy Pagés. Although the Dodgers swept the Reds in the Commodines, the Pinarño went blank in nine official shifts, which generated some doubts about their continuity as a holder. However, mentor Dave Robert maintained confidence and the 24 -year -old boy responded.

This Saturday, at the beginning of the divisional series of the National League, the Dodgers defeated the Phillies 5-3 with an important performance of the Vueltabajero. With the 3-2 game favorable to Philadelphia in the seventh inning, Pagés opened with the left against the shipments of reliever David Robertson and lit the fuse that would end the trapping of the Californians.

After this unstoppable, Will Smith received a ball, but the star Shhehei Ohtani and Mookie Betts failed against the left -handed Matt Strahm, who gave the impression of quelling the rebellion. However, Dominican Teoscar Hernández took advantage of a high line and connected a 394 feet home run through the right garden that turned the scoreboard.

With that hit, Pagés was recorded as the corridor that scored the draw. The Cuban, in addition, was taken a couple of strikeouts and was the victim of a great Fildeo by Harrison Bader in the central garden.

The Dodgers had a great monicular performance by Shhehei Ohtani. The Japanese made the first opening of his post -season career and did not disappoint, with six innings at the rate of three jits and three allowed races, nine strikeouts and only one ticket. Two theoretical openers such as Tyler Glasnow and Roki Sasaki, in addition to the Alex Vesia plugging.

The Dodgers are the current MLB champions and are now in full race to retain the crown, something that no team has achieved in the present century.

Arozarena, without luck

The other Cuban who jumped to the diamonds this Saturday in the postseason of Major Leagues was Randy Arozarena, who fell 3-2 with Seattle at the start of the divisional duel against Detroit. The Pinareño patrolman also went blank in four shifts with a punch, a ticket and a scored in his account.

The Vueltabajero had no luck, because he connected a pair of battles that were shot at more than 100 miles and were filmed by the gardeners of the Tigers.

Arozarena marked the tie (2-2) for the mariners in the sixth entrance, when he opened with a ticket in front of the shipments of the reliever Rafael Montero. Then the Cuban demonstrated his speed in the bases as he advanced to third with a single Raleigh single and then score with another unstoppable of Julio Rodríguez.

Despite playing at home and wearing a week of rest, Seattle could not Detroit, who defined the game at the Inning 11 by decisive simple of Zach McKinstry.

The Cuban Andy Ibáñez did not see for the Tigers, who has most acted as a replacement player during all 2025.

The other Antilleans involved in the postseason are Yariel Rodríguez, reliever of Toronto, and JC Escarra, the substitute receiver of the Yankees. Precisely, the Blue Jays and the Bronx bombers faced this Saturday with victory for beating (10-1) of the Canadian franchise.
