In September The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) granted a license to Magallanes and Tigres de Aragua, so that they can establish relations with institutions and individuals in the United States.
After the sanctions imposed by the US in 2019, no player belonging to the Major Leagues was allowed to play in the LVBP, considering that it was linked to the government of Nicolás Maduro, since its first sponsor was Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
The measure initially affected the eight teams in the Venezuelan league. However, that same year the veto was lifted to six.
The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League has the immense pleasure of announcing to the general public that the Tigres de Aragua and Navegantes del Magallanes teams received the license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States government (OFAC).
