The vice minister of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (MIVIOT), Daniela Martínez, indicated that on April 14 the first removals should begin in the new housing project on Isla Colón, province of Bocas del Toro.
This project is intended for families in need and will also have sports areas, children’s courts, a tank for 50,000 gallons of drinking water and a sewage treatment plant.
“It is important to explain that this project was born to provide a solution to a community that is living right next to the airport of this island, where they live among sewage, illegal connections, do not have drinking water and we have an approximate census of about 500 families,” detailed Martinez.
The vice minister stressed that it is a project that must be paid for before the Mortgage Bank “It is important that these homes that are delivered in a large percentage are subsidized, as the project is being closed in terms of costs, we must determine what will be the amount to pay , but if it is a project that must be paid before the Mortgage Bank like all MIVIOT projects unless it is exonerated due to fortuitous cause.
