MIVIOT continues working on the reconstruction of houses in the community of Wala

The Vice Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning, Daniela Martínez, reported on Radio Panama that the work to help the victims of the fire that occurred last week in the Wala community, Wargandí region, continues.
“We bring this humanitarian aid for the population from water, medical supplies, food, a medical tour was carried out to verify the health of children and adults, in terms of housing we carry kits that include zinc, nails and by today, Friday, the trestles to assemble the houses and they asked that the design of the traditional house be respected and they are making the structure with wood from the same sector,” he detailed.
They also accompanied the President of the Republic, who made a tour to see on the ground the progress of the aid provided to the affected families “we toured the areas and saw significant progress in terms of houses built and we met with the sahila where President Cortizo was present where he committed to the construction of sidewalks and the House of Congress to be able to repair it»
The community has been directly involved in conjunction with the government’s inter-institutional team and 35 homes have already been built out of a total of 73 affected.
