The popular Euphoria nightclublocated on Venezuela Avenue in Santo Domingo Este, was closed this Friday by the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (Mived). The measure was taken by the entity, because the building “does not have a construction license.”
The closure was carried out preventive and provisionalreported the Mived.
In addition to the lack of a construction license, the ministry said the amusement center also operated without technical inspections nor the final certifications required, in violation of the Law 161-21.
The institution reported that the center was notified of its suspension on June 17, 2025, “after verifying that there were remodeling work without supervision or valid permits.”
“Despite the summons issued, those responsible for the nightclub did not appear at the pinned viewsas can be seen from the minutes drawn up by the Legal Address of the Ministry,” said the Mived in one press release.
He said that, upon verifying the reopening of the premises and the restart of commercial activities Without proper authorization, they summoned the owners again, who agreed to regularize themselves. But “without having completed that process, they promoted artistic events with massive public presence,” said the Mived.
Given this lack, the Vice Ministry of Standards, Regulations and Procedures issued the administrative act MIVED-VNRT-AC-013/2025, ordering the preventive closure of the entertainment center “until the situation of the building is regularized.”
It is not a sanction
In the information, the Mived indicated that the preventive closure does not constitute a sanction“but a provisional measure of public protection.”
- The closure will be in force until it is verified that the structure of the nightclub complies with the corresponding technical and safety standards.
