One of the companies that integrates the Inside Consortium is Logicalis Paraguay SA, Antonio Domínguez, cluster manager of the firm, expressed that the project is very ambitious, and has the scope of a joint effort.
“We seek the achievement of students in order to continue improving the educational level. They are projects that were already carried out in other countries and in which we have participated. Really that it is advancing in a fast way, it will benefit all the student body itself, ”she said.
He reported that the goal is to try to finish the project this year. This, despite the problems of logistics and provision of the equipment they suffer.
“Today we are within the established deadlines. It is designed for students, but it will be a benefit for the entire community. Provide internet to all public spaces to promote knowledge to all”, she pointed out.
In addition, he said that education should be a country project like health, that goes beyond the barriers of a government, manage it institutionally and try to direct it towards that model as other countries do.
“The MEC must be managed much more independently. Treat it as a growth platform for focus and strategic plans that accompany that growth or that path that one tends to improve the educational world”, she concluded.
PUBLIC SPACES
Fernando Saguier, Minister of Mitic, pointed out that it is an internet installation service in public spaces. Specifically of 321 public spaces, including some 250 seats.
“We are below the reference price. There are 250 places throughout the national territory. We are talking about 180 municipalities. A project focused on providing internet to districts present in the poverty map of the Technical Planning Secretariat (STP)”, he stated.
Alfredo Moreira, general director of infrastructure and connectivity, stated that this project began in 2014. The first work generated 110 public spaces equipped with the Internet. However, the new project consists of the allocation of 321 additional points.
“The contracts are signed. The project is running. One part is connectivity and another part is infrastructure”, he reported.
CONTEXT
The Mitic will provide free internet to 321 public spaces. The project consists of two components. The first is connectivity and the second is infrastructure. Once completed, the benefited places will have free internet for 24 months.
Currently, about 110 public spaces have free internet. With this, the total amount will rise to 430 points throughout the country. It is estimated that, by the end of 2022, the works will already be completed.
The works include the deployment of fiber and the installation service in remote places (away from large cities). It is about 1000 kilometers of new fiber cables.
“They are squares, hospitals, waterfronts, settlements and others. By the end of this year they will be operational. That is our planning. Due to the situation of the pandemic and the war, there are problems with logistics and the delivery of the equipment. It is a worldwide problem,” Saguier said at another time.
