The Minister of Agricultural Development, Roberto Linares, received a visit from the Governor of Missouri in the United States, Mike Parson, who was interested in learning about the agricultural sector and creating cooperation alliances that would strengthen trade relations and the Panamanian agricultural sector.
During the meeting, the governor said that Missouri and Panama have many things in common, including their agriculture and livestock, which represent determining factors in the economy and trade in order to establish relations between both states.
He also mentioned that for them, small countries are important and that Panama and its agricultural sector can benefit from the technology and research they have developed to improve their productivity in rice, corn and other products.
On behalf of his team, Minister Linares thanked Missouri for its visit and for its interest in considering Panama as a partner in the agricultural sector, which is currently undergoing a transformation process to improve production yields.
There was also talk about the possibility of establishing alliances for the exchange of products between this State and Panama, which would benefit both nations.
Minister Linares was accompanied by the Director of Animal Health, Reinaldo Viveros; Diana de Guinard, from International Cooperation and Mylene Pitty, from Trade Policy, among others. While the Governor was accompanied by the agricultural attaché of the United States Embassy in Panama, Andrew Hochhalter, authorities and merchants.
