Carol Bermúdez, who had been missing for more than 26 days in the country’s capital, She was found dead floating in the Suárez Riverin the department of Santander.
The Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police was in charge of finding the body that was in a high degree of decomposition. Moments after being transferred to Legal Medicine, It was confirmed that the body belongs to the 18-year-old woman who had already been reported missing days before.
Although it is unknown why Carol made a trip to this department, what her family member could corroborate is that the young woman would have attacked her integrity, until she lost her life.

Her father spoke in an interview for a well-known national media outlet and mentioned that Carol “I had everything planned, because we were in San Gil and she asked about the river, and looked at it. She made that decision on her own.”
Likewise, the mother of the woman who worked as a medical student said in an interview with a station in San Gil (Santander) that the day he was reported missingCarol got out of a taxi on the boardwalk in this municipality.
In addition, she said, through tears, that her daughter had sent her messages, where she told her that she wanted to leave this earthly plane “She told me that she was on the Fonce river bridge. He said he wanted to leave quickly. That is why we are certain that she was able to reach the bridge.”.
However, what most caught the attention of the woman’s parents is that in days gone by she had visited San Gil, and the flow of the river had caught his attention and he asked many questions about it.

“He looked at the river with interest and insistence, he told me: ‘the river is mighty, it is deep, high’, but they are things that one does not pay attention to, ”said Carol’s mother.
Lastly, she emphasized that her daughter was depressed and that she made her understand this because on previous occasions she had told her that “He did not find meaning in his life, the future was not clear to him.”
