After eleven days of intense searching, the body of PNP non-commissioned officer Miguel Vilca Ccosco (24) was found, who disappeared on October 3 after the police vehicle in which he was traveling fell into the Mantaro River, near the Quiulla toll, in La Oroya.

The discovery was made on Tuesday morning in the Estrella quarry area, where divers from the Lima Salvage Unit managed to recover the body. The agent’s mother confirmed his identity.

Vilca was a member of the “Leaders” promotion and belonged to the Pasco Special Services Unit. The accident left four survivors. The Yauli Prosecutor’s Office and the Highway Police carried out the corresponding procedures.
The PNP expressed its regret for the loss of the young non-commissioned officer, remembered for his commitment and vocation to service.
