Missing fishermen from La Guaira located in Ocumare de la Costa

They were located three fishermen of the El Rumbero boat in Ocumare de la Costa, Aragua state, by local fishermen, on the night of this Friday, May 12.

According to the report by the security forces, the rescued fishermen were identified as Juan Romero, Yonathan Parra and Gil Parra, who are alive and receiving medical attention.

It is expected that they will be transferred via area this Saturday morning from the state of Aragua to La Guaira.

The Guairean fishermen had set sail on May 6 from the Chuspa fishing pier, Caruao parish, they were found by a fishing boat from Ocumare La Costa, some twenty nautical miles away.

It was learned that the boat suffered a breakdown and was dragged by the current, drifting for about six days.

During this week, the Coast Guard Command, the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces, the Ministry of Defense and fishermen from La Guaira, maintained the search for the El Rumbero vessel and its crew, extending to the waters of Aragua state, with more than 17 fishing vessels and maritime and air patrol units.
