“Throughout my journey as an ambassador and beauty queen, I have served with commitment, resilience, discipline and determination. To truly reach my potential, I must remain firmly anchored in my guiding values and principles that pave the way to excellence,” Olivia explained in the statement.
Olivia stated that her goal is to be an example for the new generations, especially for the girls, encouraging them to push boundaries and embrace their identity.
He explained that giving up Miss Universe Africa and Oceania will allow her to focus on upholding the values she holds dear. In addition, he called on Afro-descendant communities to occupy spaces where they are not expected and to make their voices heard.

“The job is for one year of Miss Universe. The one who travels the most and has the most contact with people in the world is the one who can fulfill the role. If they ask for a visa in 175 countries, it’s kind of difficult, right?” he noted, referring to the immigration restrictions faced by some contestants.

According to Rocha, the requirements of the title include traveling constantly throughout the year to fulfill social, media and commercial agendasand any limitations in mobility could affect the queen’s performance.
