The Miss Universe 2024 pageant is in its final phase, so the preliminary gala held this Thursday was key to defining the 30 finalists (the names will be revealed on the final night) who will compete in the grand final, on Saturday, the 16th. November at the Mexico City Arena.
Participants from 130 countries paraded in traditional and swimsuit costumes, showing their beauty, personality and skills, aspects that will be essential to achieve a place in the decisive round.
Among the notable candidates is Juliana Barrientos, who represented Bolivia in the preliminary gala wearing a typical costume designed by Qhapac Ñan Art, with the collaboration of Jhesmany Fernández, Rodolfo Pinto and Daniel Parada.
Inspired by the owl, the costume is a representation of Bolivian cultural heritage and the symbolic connection with nature. This traditional costume, associated with the dances of the Tobas, is characterized by an imposing crown of feathers that symbolizes vision. and the power of the owl, a nocturnal bird with strong meaning in culture.
The selection committee, which will define the new Miss Universe 2024, is made up of 13 people dedicated to different areas, among them are: the producer Emilio Estefan, the influencer Lele Pons, the businesswoman and finalist of Miss Universe 1977, Eva Cavalli , and the businessman Gianluca Vacchi to mention a few figures.
The final will be broadcast from 9:00 p.m. on Red Uno and will be available by cable on TV Azteca and Telemundo. offering a night of excitement in which the new Miss Universe will be crowned.
