Ten outstanding women from the city of Posadas received awards for their outstanding work in the community, which was in charge of voting for them within the framework of the award, named Marta Irene Coronel De Sawaya.
The distinction was given for the first time in honor of the work in society of the first rector of the National University of Misiones (UNaM).
In addition, Marta Irene Coronel de Sawaya, was an outstanding teacher, graduated in Social Work and considered one of the first feminists in the city who fought for the conquest of rights and gender equality.
The award ceremony was held in the Multicultural space of the Ex-Train Station located in the fourth section of the Posadas waterfront and was attended by the deputy governor, Carlos Arce.

“We believe it is necessary to recognize her through other women who carried out this task through different actions,” said María Eva Giménez, president of the Capital City Council’s Gender Equity Commission.
The outstanding women work in different areas, such as media and social networks, socio-community politics, entrepreneurship and popular economy, business, fight for equity.
The community participated by nominating, while the shortlists and the winners were chosen by the members of the Commission for Inclusion and Gender Equity.

The Winners were: Cecilia Moya (Art and Culture); María Cristina Ryndycz (Business); Florencia Orlando (Entrepreneurship and Popular Economy); Gathering Women (Sociocommunity); Sonia Liz Villalba (Sports); Cecilia Roses (Health); Mirta Gladys Chemes (Politics); Florencia González (Fight for Equity); Lidia Schiavoni (Education, Science and Technology); Las Calacas (Media and Social Networks).
The gala marked the importance of making visible not only the public policies that are being implemented, but also social deconstruction, sisterhood, and commitment to gender.
Also, the trajectory of each of the chosen ones was highlighted, as the way to build a society free of prejudice.
