The former head of the ministerial cabinet suggested that Dina Boluarte resign so that the elections can be carried out immediately.
Former President of the Council of Ministers Mirtha Vasquez -in interview for the Republic— criticized the management of Dina Boluarte. He said that—according to his hypothesis—“she does not govern”, since another person would be governing behind the president because, in her cabinet, the former Minister of Development and Social Inclusion did not propose extreme things, but rather repeated that “this is a government of the people”.
“I am surprised at the government that she is leading because in the cabinet she did not propose extreme things nor was she in favor of authoritarianism, but rather repeated: ‘This is a government of the people. You have to pay attention to what the people say,” the former head of the ministerial cabinet told this outlet.
“My hypothesis is that she does not rule, someone is ruling behind her, who convinces her that this is the best strategy.”, complemented Mirtha Vásquez. In addition, she mentioned that Boluarte “has convinced himself that this is the way out,” that is, violence against the Protestants.
“This speaks of her weak leadership, which has not been able to assume the leadership of the country under principles that she has previously proclaimed,” he said.
Mirtha Vásquez: “Dina Boluarte must resign”
The former head of the PCM was also in favor of the resignation of the head of state and considered that “with her resignation, she has in her hands the advancement of new elections.
“It is dangerous that he is openly unaware of the serious crisis. It does not respond to what the country needs. As president, she must respond to the country’s demands. With her denial, she makes the crisis deepen. She has in her hands (the) to resolve (her): with her resignation she would make Congress leave and there would be new elections, but she does not want to give in, ”she pointed out.
