The Ministry of Foreign Affairs received on Monday relatives of the Dominican driver which was presumably kidnapped in Haiti when he entered that country in a cargo truck.
According to a note from the Foreign Ministry, the Vice Minister for Consular and Immigration Affairs, Jatzel Románinformed this family that the Dominican embassy based in Prince Port sent a diplomatic note to the Haitian Foreign Ministry to request collaboration with the satisfactory solution of this case.
The relatives of Dominican driver reiterated before the Mirax that last Friday they lost contact with him without so far having direct confirmation of a kidnapping.
The institution left open a single contact between the Directorate for the Protection of Nationals Abroad and this family to share official information and thus prevent third parties from getting involved with negative intentions.
The Dominican Government reiterated the recommendation made since October 2021 to Dominicans, to refrain from traveling to Haiti except for essential reasons.
