Santo Domingo, DR. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) reported that as of February 11, 2026, the call for the Public Competition for Entry to the Diplomatic Career is formally open, with the objective of selecting a new group of diplomatic officials from the Dominican Republic.
Those interested may apply from February 12 to March 5, 2026, registering as users on the digital platform COMPETITION, from the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP), available at https://map.gob.do/Concursa. During this period they must upload all the required documentation in digital format.
The contest is aimed at Dominican citizens of legal age, with a minimum academic degree of bachelor’s degree, mastery of the English or French language (level B2 or higher) and who meet the requirements established in the call and contest rules, published on the MIREX website www.mirex.gob.do.

Among the required documents are: CONCURSA application form, legalized copy of the university degree and grade record certified by the MESCyT, copy of the identity and electoral card, updated curriculum vitae and certification of no criminal record, among others. The documentation must be submitted exclusively in PDF format, with adequate legibility.
The selection process will consist of two stages. The first includes in-person eliminatory tests of languages, knowledge and general culture, evaluation of psychological and personality skills, as well as an interview before a panel of professionals. Forty candidates with the best qualifications will be selected from this phase.
The second stage corresponds to specialized academic training at the Institute of Higher Education in Diplomatic and Consular Training (INESDYC), designed for this contest. Those who successfully complete this program will be appointed in a six-month trial period with a base salary of RD$85,000.00 and, after approval, they will formally enter the Diplomatic Career with the rank of third secretary.
The new call continues the guidelines of President Luis Abinader to continue promoting the professionalization of the Foreign Service and modernize the Dominican Foreign Ministry.
On February 4, 2025, MIREX opened a call to elect a new generation of career diplomatic officials, a process for which more than 1,600 people from all over the country applied. The call, which had not been held for 10 years, concluded in October of last year with the selection of 50 participants who are currently pursuing academic training at the Institute of Higher Education in Diplomatic and Consular Training (INESDYC).
MIREX recalled that the Diplomatic Career is incompatible with the General Administrative Career and the rest of the special careers, as well as the military, police and judicial careers, so, if selected, after the training phase and before the final appointment of the Diplomatic Career is issued, the candidate must renounce them.
