Government reports 70 new cases of covid 19 in the country

The health authorities reported that 10 new covid-19 infections were detected on Thursday, January 26, adding to the total of 551,399 cases estimated for almost three years.


Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported that 10 new covid-19 infections were detected in five entities of the country during the day of Thursday, March 26, 2023.

Yaracuy and Zulia headed the list prepared by the authorities by reporting three new cases of the disease in each of their territories. On the one hand, the patients of the last hours on Yaracuyan soil were evident in two of its 14 municipalities: Independencia (2) and San Felipe (1).

While on the other, only two of the 21 municipalities of Zulia recorded new cases of covid-19: Maracaibo (2) and Guajira (1),

Subsequently, the Capital District (2), Vargas (1) and Nueva Esparta (1) were located on the list.

This leaves out of the count of the covid-19 in the day of Apure, Táchira, Mérida Trujillo, Barinas, Portuguesa, Cojedes, Lara, Falcón, Carabobo, Aragua, Guárico, Amazonas, Bolívar, Anzoátegui, Miranda, Monagas, Delta Amacuro and Sucre.

The statistics about the cases that arrive in Venezuela through travelers from abroad are still unknown, since since January 1 they have not published these figures because the provision that forced a second PCR test to be carried out in the country was eliminated. The official statistics published by Rodríguez in his social media Regarding the day of January 26, 2023, the total number of covid-19 cases that Venezuela reports daily increased. In this sense, 1,047 days after the detection of the first infections on March 13, 2020, a total of 551,399 and 544,809 recovered patients are reported, which according to official data represents 99% overcoming the disease.

Currently, there are 745 active cases of covid-19 in the country according to the figures released by the authorities, of which 49 are treated in the public network of hospitals; 69 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 33 in private clinics and 594 people who are in home isolation or “supervised community care”.

During the last 24 hours, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported two new deaths from covid-19 in the national territory: a 74-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman in Zulia state, indicating that the number of deaths from this disease , according to the official register, rose to 5,845.
