Chikungunya, dengue and Zika are diseases caused by viruses that are transmitted by the bite of a mosquito (Aedes aegypti).
In this regard, the health portfolio reported that this mosquito breeds in any tank with water that is found inside or around the houses, which is called a hatchery, so the basic control measure is to avoid the existence of containers that can accumulate water.

Ways to avoid mosquito bites
– Eliminate breeding sites
– Those useless objects that cannot be discarded, such as household appliances, tires or others, must be placed indoors or covered, in order to avoid the accumulation of water.
– Drill holes in the cans to prevent them from accumulating water.
– Disused toilets deposited in the patio can be filled with earth, and used as planters.
– Cover tanks and drums with water that will be used.
– Chlorinate swimming pools to prevent the reproduction of mosquitoes.
– Change the water in the animal’s drinker daily, after hygiene with a brush, water and soap, in order to eliminate possible eggs that have stuck to the walls of the container.
– Delete with the garbage containers and obsolete objects that can stagnate water (caps, bottles, etc.) and take care that garbage does not accumulate inside the registers, so that the water is drained.

– Wear clothes that cover the whole body (pants, long-sleeved shirts).
Finally, Public Health indicated that it is essential to adherence from all sectors from society to prevention and control measures in homes and in the community, to guarantee an environment free of mosquitoes.
