More than 30 passengers who were on board the interprovincial vehicle, Móvil Bus, were miraculously saved after it was left on the edge of a 60-meter-high abyss, which flows into the Tarma River. A pine tree was crucial in cushioning the impact of the vehicle, saving the lives of all the occupants.

The incident occurred around 4:30 am, on a sharp curve at kilometer 64 of the central highway, near the Carpapata I-UNACEM Hydroelectric Power Plant. According to the Highway Police report, the vehicle suffered a mistake and material damage, but fortunately there were no victims.

The bus was left with its front tires suspended over the void, looking at the Tarma River. To prevent the vehicle from moving and falling into the abyss, the incident caused the passengers to experience moments of panic and desperation.
