MinVivienda officials charged with corruption

The Public Ministry charged three crimes against the 10 officials of the Ministry of Habitat and Housing who were allegedly involved in a criminal structure that sold apartments from the Great Venezuela Housing Mission in dollars, according to judicial sources.

The detainees were presented before the Court 2 of Control of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Caracas, where representatives of the Public Ministry charged them with the alleged commission of delay or intentional omission of functions and improper access or sabotage to protected systems, crimes contemplated in the Law against Corruption.

They were also charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, a crime provided for in the Law against Organized Crime and Financing of Terrorism.

The MinVivienda officials were detained in three procedures carried out by agents of the Bolivarian National Police, who received a complaint from Vice Minister Carolina Cestari.

In response to this, five people were detained in the Felipe Antonio Acosta urban development, located in Coche: Ada Nacary Llovera Castellanos (leader of the community and the family committee), as well as MinVivienda officials Liliana Rojas Franco, Lissette Del Valle Naranjo Bello , Deisy Yasmin Castillo Gaspar and Yesika Arlenis Suárez Moreno.

These people allegedly used to intimidate residents of the aforementioned urban development with firearms to force them to vacate the property, according to initial investigations.

Subsequently, the vacated apartment was allegedly awarded to a new owner who previously paid between 5 and 7 thousand dollars, according to what was investigated.

In a second procedure, five MinVivienda line directors identified as Peregrina Alejandrina Amor Morelo (director of Registry of the Vice Ministry of Popular Networks) were captured; Mary Yoselin Trejo Peñaloza (Director of Adjudication); Miguel Ángel Tovar Quijada (director of Monitoring and Control of the Vice Ministry of Popular Networks); Wilivaldo Manuel Goyo Ramírez (director of the Popular Builder School) and Karla Eduviges Sáenz Camacho (analyst).

These people allegedly altered data to award several apartments to the same person, a situation that was verified through an audit collected by Polinacional agents.

And in a third procedure, Germán Antonio Medina Vargas, an analyst at the MinVivienda, was captured. Medina Vargas is also accused of belonging to the criminal structure that evicted apartments to re-allocate them after delivering sums in dollars.

As a result of the dissemination of the alleged act of corruption detected in MinVivienda, several victims have gone to the various PNB headquarters in the interior of the country to report similar cases of scams with the sales offers of apartments built by the Great Venezuela Housing Mission. .

The acts of corruption for which 10 MinVivienda officials were arrested occurred in the Caracas Metropolitan Area.

The 78th Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Antonio Rodríguez, was notified of the procedures.
