Minute by minute: opposition marches against Petro policies

After the marches in support of Gustavo Petro’s reforms on February 14, the opposition scheduled protest mobilizations for this Wednesday against the policies of the government and the president.

5:00 pm After several massive concentrations in the main public squares of the country, little by little, the demonstrations against the policies of President Gustavo Petro are diluted without major disturbances of public order.

After the marches in Medellin, and after a group of protesters gathered in front of the city hall, the mayor Daniel Quintero ordered the entry of the ESMAD to protect the building. However, police intervention was not necessary.

1:00 pm Demonstrators begin to arrive at the Plaza de Bolívar, after their journey from the National Park in Bogotá.

In CaliThousands of people go to the Jairo Varela Square, in the center of Cali, after leaving the Parque de las Banderas. The march proceeds smoothly.

In MedellinMayor Daniel Quintero ordered the entry of the ESMAD to protect the entrance to the mayor’s office, where several protesters gathered.

10:30 a.m. Bogotá authorities report a sit-in on Calle 17 with Carrera 7, a situation that affects the mixed road. Protesters begin moving north of the city, starting from the National Park.

10:00 a.m.. Thousands of people arrive at the Parque de las Banderas in the south of Cali to march to the Plazoleta Jairo Varela in the center of the city.

9:45 a.m. The first demonstrators begin to arrive at the National Park. The meeting time is at 10 in the morning and then go to the Plaza de Bolívar.

– Armenian – Bolivar plaza

– Santa Marta – Camellón square

– Cartagena – Ridge of the Martyrs

-Pereira – Dosquebradas Viaduct

– Ibagué – Murillo Toro Park

– Medellin – Eastern Avenue with the Beach

-Barranquilla – Squares of Peace
