The truckers’ strike complete five days standing and its impact is becoming increasingly noticeable, not only on mobility, but also on different sectors of the economy. Although negotiations between the parties are still ongoing, no agreement has yet been reached.

Among the proposals that have been put on the table, the National Government proposed that there will be a gradual increase in the price of ACPM (diesel) with a monthly adjustment of $200 which would last until December. However, the transporters rejected the proposal.

3:30 pm: Protesters on Calle 13 in Bogotá said they were perplexed by the president’s attitude on the night of September 4 when he did not refer to the strike in his speech. Along the same lines, intermittent steps are being allowed
3:17 pm: The latest police report indicates that 233 protests have been recorded across the country, corresponding to 120 permanent blockades, 82 intermittent ones and 25 demonstrations. This is despite the intervention of the UNDMO on Wednesday afternoon to clear some blockades, including four in Bogotá, one in Tunja (Boyacá) and one in Cáqueza (Cundinamarca).
2:15 pm: open passage at the roundabout on 17th Street heading to the Pumarejo Bridge. The trucks continued on their way while the leaders headed in the opposite direction to the bridge, a work that leads to the department of Magdalena.
2:10 pm: According to the latest report presented by the Unified Command Post (PMU), 54 demonstrations have been recorded in Cundinamarca, 43 of these with permanent blockades, 10 intermittent ones, and two rallies in 34 municipalities.
Municipalities such as Soacha, Zipaquirá, Tausa, Sutatausa, Simijaca, Subachoque and Pacho, among others, have reported fuel shortages. In municipalities such as Tabio, sales are even rationed at service stations ($80,000 for trucks, $50,000 for private vehicles and $20,000 for motorcycles).
2:08 pm: The Confederation of Retail Distributors of Fuels and Energy (Comce) expressed its concern and rejection of the blockades that have been occurring in different parts of the country.The legitimate protests of the transport sector must not violate other fundamental rights of Colombians, such as the right to work, access to essential public services and food.“, said.
2 pm: Bogotá declared a green alert for hospitals in the district health system due to the truckers’ strike.
1:50 pm: EPM reported that it is providing natural gas service normally in 121 towns in 92 municipalities in Antioquia. However, due to the closures and roadblocks that occur in some areas of the department, “the continuity of service for the community could be impacted“.
1:45 pm: The roads leading to the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón airport in Palmira are closed. In addition, in Cali, the city’s land terminal does not have flights to any destination.
1:40 pm: Protesters gather on Calle 80, very close to the Guaduas bridge. This was one of the only places in Bogotá where there were no protests during the day on Thursday.
12:40 pm: Coviandina reports that protesters are allowing vehicle passage through K0+000 (El Uval sector) and K35+000 (El Tablón sector). However, the total closure continues at K85+400.

12:20 pm: Medellin’s Mobility Secretariat reports the closure of the Northern Highway near Fabricato.
11:50 am: UNDMO agents regained access to the avenue leading from Bogotá to Villavicencio. Authorities used stun grenades and tear gas.
11:30 am: Mobility is restored on the northern highway with 183. Following the intervention of UNDMO agents with stun grenades, the protesters who were blocking the Northern Highway disperse.

8:30 am: TransMilenio released the latest mobility report. Currently, closures are reported at Portal Usme, Molinos, Socorro and Consuelo, Terminal and Calle 187.
7:30 am: The Ministry of Transport reported that at this time there are 180 mobilizations registered throughout the national territory. Of this number, 91 correspond to permanent blockades, 65 intermittent and 24 demonstrations.
6:25 am: The governor of Cundinamarca, Jorge Rey, said that almost all the access and exit points of Bogotá are blocked. In total, there are about 43 affected points in the department.
