Mintransporte denies that mobility 'apps' are going to be prohibited

The Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyesdenied that the national government is going to prohibit the operation of mobility platforms in Colombia and called on these ‘apps’ to submit proposals for their formalization.

(Mobility ‘Apps’ would be under construction of a regulatory project).

“We are building a consensus in which the drivers of the applications will also participate so that they bring their proposals and we build a regulatory framework. We hope that after that meeting we can give the country the path it will follow. We are not going to file, by instruction of the President of the Republic, any bill while there is no consensus”, Minister Reyes said when announcing a meeting for this Wednesday with drivers and representatives of mobility applications.

insisted that no blocks are wanted and for that, the channels for dialogue and the construction of the regulatory project were opened.

“No. (They do not want to end the platforms). If you look at the third draft, it does not seek to end, there it is sanctioned to be in the framework of illegality”, Reyes said.

According to the Minister, the drivers and representatives of the applications for “Advance in the construction stage of the bill on the sanctioning system for transport”which will be taken to Congress, after extensive discussion.
