The national government continues with the development of projects related to infrastructure and transportation, for a better quality of life for the inhabitants in the Micay Canyon area.
It should be noted that in matters of rural and regional roads, 143 projects are being executed throughout the department of Cauca, Among them, 86 from the Community Paths of Total Peace (CCPT) program with a value of $19,000 million, corresponding to the year 2023, and another 42 for $8,500 million from the 2024 phase.

Additionally, there is $10,000 million for 3 prioritizations with 3 ethnic communities. This also includes Works for Taxes projects, agreements and royalties.
In the municipality of Algeria, within CCPT there are 2 agreements for $468 million finalized and 6 for $1,225 million signed. This program is transcendental to the extent that the communities themselves identified their needs regarding the improvement of the tertiary roads in their territories, being the executors of said road infrastructure works.
Additionally, 3 direct impact projects belonging to the Colombia Avanza program were prioritized: Suárez-Timba of 11 km, which is being structured and requires future terms of $45,000 million for its execution between 2025 and 2026; Popayán – Guapi, with 125 km and El Plateado – Argelia with 32.5 km for $16,000 million in 2024 of inter-administrative procedure for studies with universities.

Within the framework of Ocad Paz, three agreements for $14,000 million were satisfactorily concluded, which allowed the improvement of tertiary roads in 11 Zomac municipalities, including Argelia, Suárez, Miranda and Toribío.
Regarding the maritime and river network, maintenance is carried out on the Guapi large vessel dock, for $1.2 billion. Meanwhile, in the air component, of the 14 aerodromes prioritized by the national government for intervention, 3 are located in Cauca: Juanchaco, Timbiquí and López de Micay. In addition, 13 tracks have been registered in the department, 8 private and 3 territorial. Technical assistance has been provided to those in Timbiquí and López de Micay.
Besides, Civil Aeronautics is in charge of the Popayán and Guapi airports. For this last municipality, the projects to be executed in 2024 total $7,000 million.

Regarding royalties, for the municipalities of Argelia, López de Micay, Suárez, Corinto, Miranda and Toribío there are 20 projects worth $275.1 billion, of which 12 have had a favorable concept for tertiary, secondary and urban roads. Likewise, one completed and the remaining 11 contracted, with an average progress of 79%.
Through the mechanism of Works for Taxes, there are 15 projects for $165.8 billion. Of these, 7 have finished, 2 are pending start and the remaining 6 have progress of 58%. Most of them have to do with tertiary routes, except one that is a secondary route.
In Argelia, López de Micay, Suárez, Corinto, Miranda and Toribío there are 5 of these projects, of which 3 are completed and the remaining 2 have a progress of 59%, benefiting more than 9,000 inhabitants.
