The Minister of Labor, Antonio Sanguino, opened the Third International Congress of Safety and Health at Labor with an intervention in which he highlighted the advances that have been giving in public policies to guarantee these conditions in the labor market.

“Here in this meeting, as also happens in the working world, knowledge, practices and experiences that must strengthen public policies for the prevention of labor risk, promoting safe and healthy environments and guarantee guarantee of decent and decent work,”highlighted the head of the portfolio.
The Sanguino Minister also referred to the sanction and Commissioning of Law 2466 of 2025also known as the labor reform, an initiative that seeks to recognize the rights of workers in that instance, “disassembling” restrictions that allow out of precariousness.
Similarly, he stressed that with these regulations, the alignment and adoption of international standards are seen.
“This issue of safety and health at work is an issue that overflows national borders. It is a matter of global discussion, because every time globalization also invites us to think of international standards, to ensure that the minimums of the democratic world make presence and become a reality in the Colombian work world,” explained.

In that sense, he also emphasized that the consolidation of supranational instances in labor matters “It allows the harmonization of normative standards, it promotes technical cooperation between countries and strengthens monitoring mechanisms.”
Along the same line, he pointed out that a monitoring is being carried out to examine the impacts that artificial intelligence and its impact on labor market dynamics.
In addition, he announced launching a technological update strategy that it will be applied not only for the agreement and resolution of labor conflicts, but also for reception, report and monitoring of high -risk situations in the Colombian work context.
