ICT minister, Sandra Milena Urrutia Pérez, presented before Commission VI of the Senate of the Republic the axes of the ICT democratization strategyas well as the challenges and urgent issues of the entity for the four-year period 2022-2026.

He also referred to the need to promote digital security and prevention, promoting legality in the sector, as well as the responsible use of ICT. “Before the sanction, we will work on prevention by accompanying the industry and entrepreneurs in complying with their legal obligations.”
In relation to the strengthening of the industry, he considered essential the consolidation and expansion of the IT industry. “The stimuli and the joint work with the sectors will allow the strengthening, not only of telecommunications, but of services such as television, radio and postal services. This Portfolio is committed to strengthening public media, with the quality of its content and with the mission of bringing productions of the highest standards to Colombian society in all corners of the country”.
“By order of President Gustavo Petro, we are going to build this initiative with the entire society: Government, industry, academia and citizens. We have already started the dialogue in the regions, through active listening for action. We invite all Colombians to participate.” said the Minister of Information Technology and Communications.
He added that this strategy is accompanied by the construction of a knowledge society, through a digital literacy strategy, and the use of ICT as a transversal tool for productivity in health, education, government and the countryside.
