The Ministry of Health reported 2,858 new cases of Covid-19 in Chile, with a positivity rate of 5.57% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after carrying out 50,545 exams, PCR and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region was 8.31%.
At the national level, according to the health authority, the new confirmed cases of the last 7 days vary by 27% compared to the previous 7 days, while the new cases of the last 14 days vary by -4% compared to the previous 7 days. 14 days prior.
Meanwhile, two regions decrease their new confirmed cases of the last 7 days, while eleven do so with the cases of the last 14 days.
Of the 2,858 new cases, 30% are diagnosed by antigen test, 46% originate from active case finding (BAC) and 20% of those reported are asymptomatic. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Region presents 22% due to antigen, 42% due to BAC and 17% of reported cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are the Metropolitan, Valparaíso, Magallanes and O’Higgins.
Meanwhile, the Magallanes region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Metropolitan, Valparaíso and Aysén regions.
According to today’s report, of the total number of new cases of the virus, 1,539 correspond to symptomatic people and 373 do not present symptoms. In addition, 946 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the disease in the country reaches 3,579,349. Of that total, 12,993 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,508,935.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 8 deaths from causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths amounts to 57,637 in the country.
To date, 176 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 130 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 337 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 50,545 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 37,363,438 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 5.57% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 8.31%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 28 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,463 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 32%, leaving a total of 1,366 beds available for use.
