The Ministry of Health reported 10,522 new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity of 15.19% in the last 24 hours at the national level, with 69,352 exams, PCR and antigen tests, while the daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is of 14.68%.
The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 1% and -3% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, four regions have decreased their cases in the last seven days and three in the last two weeks.
According to the health authority, of the 10,522 new cases, 36% are diagnosed by antigen tests, 46% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 24% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 28% due to antigen, 37% due to BAC and 19% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Valparaíso, Coquimbo and Antofagasta.
Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Arica, Coquimbo and Antofagasta regions.
According to today’s report, of the total new cases of Covid-19, 5,872 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,850 do not present symptoms. In addition, 2,800 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,013,903. Of that total, 40,805 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,911,379.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 38 deaths from causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths amounts to 58,563 in the country.
To date, 180 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 112 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 228 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 69,352 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 40,609,539 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 15.19% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 14.68%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, there are 29 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,307 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 49%, leaving a total of 914 beds available for use.
