Cancer patients will not have to travel to Panama City to receive their chemotherapy treatments, because according to the Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, there will be effective coordination with the integrated care system for oncology patients.
Boyd Galindo said that the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, has promoted a new oncology system that will not include a single hospital, but rather a complete system.
He said that the three bunkers located at the National Oncology Institute (ION) will continue to provide their services, as will the four at the Cancerology Hospital in the City of Health, with the aim of ensuring that users or patients receive adequate care.
He explained that chemotherapy services have been established in various hospitals nationwide, including: the Anita Moreno Hospital, Luis “Chicho” Fábrega, José Domingo de Obaldía and Nicolás A. Solano de La Chorrera so that people do not have to travel long distances to receive treatment.
Recently, the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, indicated that these actions seek to offer a fast, efficient and humane solution to cancer patients, while the State will save millions of dollars by eliminating unnecessary duplication.
