The Ministry of Health (Minsa), reported that, due to the evident breach of biosafety measures, detected by the regional team of the Ministry of Health, within the activities that took place this November 28 in the district of Boquete, the mayor’s office of this district will be sanctioned with a fine of 5 thousand balboas.
This decision, duly documented by the officials who executed the verification operations, is based on Executive Decree No. 852 of September 29, 2021, which establishes the regulations on which crowded activities are allowed, in which an important number of people, specifically using article 13 that states the following “the violation of the provisions contained in this executive decree will be sanctioned by the authority according to its competence,” indicated the Ministry of Health.
Requests for a folkloric walk in the Domingo Médica park (in a controlled area) were processed before the regional Minsa, which ended up becoming a parade through the streets of the district with the assistance of 5 independent bands, together with the request of capacity of 100% of vaccinated people; however, no perimeter was established for the verification of the vaccination card or QR code.
The Minsa as the governing body reminded businessmen, event organizers, local authorities and citizens themselves that the intention of supporting the economic reactivation is not above the work and commitment to safeguard the most precious treasure of the human being , life and health; For this reason, it is reiterated once again that strict compliance with these regulations will continue to be ensured, the sole purpose of which is to contain the spread of the virus and prevent an increase in cases in the region.
He reiterated that at the time of submitting an application for permission through a note addressed to the biosafety department, with its respective protocol, a co-responsibility is also acquired that must be respected by both the attendees and the organizers themselves.
