Minsa reports 57 cases of COVID-19 in Nicaragua in one week

The Ministry of Health (Minsa), in its institutional report this Tuesday, reported a decrease in the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Nicaragua with 12 fewer cases than those reported the previous week.

In its incidence record, the health institution reflects that between April 29 and 5 there were 57 cases of COVID-19 in the country and one deceased in seven days, according to the report that the number of deaths has not changed since October 2020 .

“People who have been under responsible and careful follow-up for COVID-19 have often had associated conditions such as: high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, obesity, heart disease, immunodeficiency syndrome, chronic kidney failure, a history of stroke, tuberculosis. lung and chronic lung diseases », details the Minsa report in which they assume again only one deceased, a fact that has not changed since October 2020.

In the first two years of the pandemic in Nicaragua, the COVID-19 Citizen Observatory reported a total of 5,991 suspicious deaths from coronavirus. The most recent report reveals that infections amount to 32,141 suspected cases, a figure higher than the official infections registered by the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health (Minsa).

The multidisciplinary team pointed out that the Minsa began what it has called “new voluntary vaccination scheme against COVID-19 – cycle 2022” about which no further information is known.
