Minsa reports 33 cases of tuberculosis, 57 of HIV and 11 of AIDS in the Metropolitan Health Region

Tuberculosis is one of the diseases that in the epidemiological report of the Metropolitan Health Region confirms a total of 33 cases, mostly in male patients between the ages of 25 and 49 years.

The districts with confirmed cases are Tocumen, Las Garzas, December 24, Las Mañanitas, Calidonia, Chorrillo, Curundú, Río Abajo, Betania, Pueblo Nuevo, Bella Vista, Ancón, Juan Díaz and Pedregal.

As for sexually transmitted diseases, 57 cases confirmed by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) were reported, one of these corresponding to a pregnant patient, and 11 cases of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) were also confirmed.

The confirmed HIV cases correspond to the districts of Betania, Curundú, Don Bosco, El Chorrillo, Calidonia, Las Mañanitas, Parque Lefevre, Río Abajo and Veracruz, while the AIDS cases are distributed in the districts of Betania, Curundú, Juan Diaz, Pueblo Nuevo, Rio Abajo and Tocumen.

In the Metropolitan Health Region, the epidemiology team maintains vigilance and does not lower its guard against any disease, urges the population to continue practicing sanitary habits and taking care of their health with appropriate medical attention.
