MINSA reiterates the “No more burned children” campaign

During the end of the year party and with the beginning of the school holidays, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) reiterated the campaign “No more burned children” with the aim of preventing burns in minors due to pyrotechnic devices, due to exposure to the sun and due to home accidents, as stated by Guadalupe Varela, head of social participation of the National Directorate of Health Promotion of MINSA.

Varela recommended that parents avoid buying fireworks, prohibit children from playing with gunpowder, use the burners on the back of the stove when cooking, and if you smell gas, open doors and windows and call the fire department.

He also recommended being aware of children when they enter the pool, when exposing them to the sun they should apply sun protection every two hours and if they have an accident seek medical attention immediately.

“The Ministry of Health wishes you happy holidays, but always maintaining biosecurity measures against viruses that circulate in the environment, because Panama needs all of us,” Varela pointed out.
