Minsa reiterates: from April 1 three doses will be required to enter public and private premises

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reiterated that from this Friday, April 1, it will be mandatory to have the three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in order to enter public and private establishments. The measure will apply to people over 18 years of age.

The Government made the provision official in Supreme Decree 030-2022-PCM, published last Saturday, and which also extends the state of emergency for a period of 30 calendar days, starting on Friday, April 1.

The rule also states that the permanent use of a KN95 mask is maintained, or failing that, a three-fold surgical mask and a community mask (fabric) on top of it.

Which establishments will require all three doses?

These are: shopping malls, shopping arcades, department stores, general stores, conglomerates, supply stores for basic necessities, supermarkets, markets, restaurants and the like in internal areas.

In addition, casinos, slot machines, cinemas, theaters, banks, churches, temples, places of worship, libraries, museums, cultural centers, art galleries, clubs, sports association venues, hairdressers, barbershops, spas, Turkish baths, saunas, baths hot springs, gyms, notaries, user service offices, administrative procedures and tables of parts of public and private institutions, as well as professional associations.

The requirement of the three doses of vaccine also reaches those over 18 years of age who wish to go to the stadiums and coliseums.

The verification of the physical or virtual card that certifies compliance with the application of the vaccination against COVID-19, in Peru or abroad, must be carried out together with an official identity document.

The case of the workers

The norm indicates that any person who carries out face-to-face work activity must also have the three doses. In the case of private activity service providers that do not have this reinforcement, they must only perform remote work.

In the case of public sector employees who carry out face-to-face activities, the application of the three doses is mandatory.

Notwithstanding, Supreme Decree 030-2022-PCM indicates which will be given a period of 15 days, counted from April 1to workers in the private and public sectors who carry out work in person in the midst of the pandemic so that they can apply the third dose.

The rule emphasizes the application of the third dose to workers in the health sector, drivers and collectors of all public transport services, as well as people who provide delivery services, taxi and private transportation of personnel and tourism . All of them can only operate if they prove they have received the booster dose, in Peru or abroad.
