The Ministry of Health reiterated that ByHeart Whole Nutrition infant formula is not suitable for consumption and urged the population not to purchase it. The warning was issued by the General Directorate of Environmental Health and Food Safety (Digesa), within the framework of the international health alert launched by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
According to Digesa, the product continues to be marketed in Peru through international digital platforms, despite not having a health registration. This situation was warned in statement No. 011-2025-DIGESA/MINSA, issued on November 21 of this year.
The Minsa specified that the ByHeart Whole Nutrition formula does not have a valid health registration or official import reports. This absence of documentation prevents its legal marketing in the country and makes it difficult to verify its safety and traceability.
The health authority reiterated that any food product—especially those intended for vulnerable populations, such as infants—must have proper authorization for its sale in the country.
The United States FDA ordered the international recall of all lots of ByHeart infant formula, both in cans and sachets. This decision, supported by a health investigation, led the Minsa to recommend the immediate suspension of its use in Peru.
Through an official statement, Digesa requested that any presentation of the product be reported and returned through the enabled channels: [email protected] and [email protected]
This is how the Minsa advised to stop using any batch of the ByHeart Whole Nutrition formula acquired by any means and asked citizens to report it to the Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) or the Regional Health Management (Geresa).
This warning also extends to health professionals and establishments that may have received the product indirectly.
