The Ministry of Health received the donation of 14 medical command vehicles donated by the Government of Japan, to strengthen the health system of Panamanians.
The Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, thanked the generous support of the Government and the Japanese people for the donation of B/. $5 million to strengthen medical response capacity nationwide.
“Today, we received the third and final delivery of these vehicles that will be essential to strengthen our emergency response capacity especially in hard-to-reach areas, ensuring that health services reach those who need it most,” said Boyd Galindo.
Javier Martínez-Acha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, was present as a witness to this donation, and reaffirmed the ties of friendship and cooperation that both nations have maintained for 120 years.
For his part, the Ambassador of Japan in Panama, Kazuyoshi Matsunaga, indicated that both countries share a common challenge: the disparity between urban and rural areas in health services, which is why access to health services is very important. health in these hard-to-reach areas.
Matsunaga recalled that this year marks the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Panama and Japan,
