MINSA has managed 75 applications for the opening of new pharmacies

The Ministry of Health (MINSA) through the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs reports that so far in 2023, 20 requests to start operations of new pharmacies have been processed throughout the country, while last year ( 2022) 55 requests were processed, which to date adds up to 75 requests for the opening of new drug dispensing establishments and other products for human health.

Likewise, MINSA reports that between August 2022 and January 2023, 13 pharmacies ended operations throughout the national territory. The management ordered the closure of 2 of them due to breaches of the rules governing pharmaceutical activity and which are established in the Health Regulations.

The National Government, through MINSA, reiterates its commitment to be a facilitator for the management of requests to start operations, while at the same time the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs carries out routine operations to verify that the establishments that dispense medicines have their license. current operation and monitor compliance with the standard.
