Minsa fights influenza and immunizes more than 159 thousand people

The vaccination days do not stop and not only against the Coronavirus, because Panama is also fighting other diseases such as influenza, against which a total of 159,220 doses have been applied, this from April 25 to date.

According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, through the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), of the total number of vaccines applied, some 114,090 doses were placed in facilities of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), while 45,130 were applied in polyclinics. of the Social Security Fund (CSS).

The region that stands out with the highest number of applied doses is Chiriquí with 35,985; followed by Coclé with 15,416; and Veraguas with 13,009 doses.

The Minsa detailed that 11,864 doses of influenza vaccines have been placed in the West Panama region; 11,017 in Panama Metro; 10,451 in Bocas del Toro; 8,868 in East Panama; 8,598 in Herrera; 8,502 in the Guna Yala region; 7,810 in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca; 7,571 in Colon; 6,829 in Los Santos; 4,835 in San Miguelito; 4,758 in Panama North; and 3,707 in the province of Darién.
