On the morning of this carnival Sunday, decomposing meat products and sausages, canned drinks with blows and a license of dubious origin were some of the anomalies found in sales stalls on the capital’s carnival route.
The Public Health team of the Metropolitan region proceeded to confiscate and destroy these products on site at 4 sales points.
Miguel Correa, regional head of Public Health, pointed out that on the route, a total of 69 posts were inspected and of these, 4 found faults.
He argued that the measures applied are to safeguard the health of the population that consumes these products and calls on the population because each person is their first security ring.
Regarding care, he reiterated that four points are enabled in the region, which are the Veracruz and Taboga Health Centers, the Parque Lefevre Police Center from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the Minsa- Capsi de Las Garzas from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, while the position on the Cinta Costera is open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
“At the Cinta Costera post, only minor care has been provided and 44 minor medical care have been provided at the authorized health facilities. If serious care was given, they would be transferred to the Santo Tomás Hospital and CSS facilities,” Correa stressed.
The regional health authorities recommend that the population maintain preventive and hygienic measures to avoid gastrointestinal diseases, heat stroke, food poisoning and excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages.
