The first call for the medical internship contest was launched yesterday by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and the Social Security Fund (CSS), in a ceremony held at the Dr. Gustavo Méndez Pereira Amphitheater of the Santo Tomás Hospital.
According to the president of the National Commission for Teaching and Internal Resident Doctors of Panama, Mayra Abood, they have 300 places for residents between the Social Security Fund and the Minsa, so two calls will be made so that a greater number of professionals have the opportunity to participate.
Abood highlighted that with this contest each applicant has the opportunity to be awarded an internship place through their certification exam for their grade from highest to lowest in order to win the place and the destination where they will be sent to do it.
