The Metropolitan Health Region reported that this Thursday morning, a mother with her 2-month-old infant arrived at the Río Abajo Health Center, requesting emergency medical attention.
Given the situation, the facility staff immediately called pediatrician Manuel Barahona to care for the little patient, noticing that he had no vital signs, so he proceeded to perform pediatric CPR, to no avail.
The Metropolitan Regional Health Directorate reiterates to the population that medical care was provided to the infant in a timely manner, however, the small patient arrived at the facility without vital signs, therefore, it sponsored an investigation to determine the causes of death and elucidate the responsibilities of the case.
