In the meeting with the representatives of the unions, they discussed the Government’s plans to accelerate the energy transition.

Among the issues that were discussed with the unions of the energy sector, the high energy rates that are being seen in the country were addressed. Given this, it was agreed to monitor the increases and the situation of the rates to find solutions.

(See: Minminas extended the start-up of the Collecting line by 488 days).

From the Government we have heard the concerns of the mayors and citizens in general about the high costs of energy rates in some areas of the country. We are analyzing the processes and ways in which rates are calculated, in order to achieve fair and affordable prices for all Colombians. We will work together with the private sector and local authorities to find a solution to this problemVelez said.

(See: In July, 86% of the energy generated came from renewable sources).

The union leaders showed their support for the Government’s intention to make a transition without affecting the security and energy autonomy of the country.

(See: Erco will reach 16% of generation with renewable energies in the country).
