The Ministry of Labor reported this Tuesday that the investigations of alleged cases of labor and sexual abuse that would be presented in the entity are advancing.

“Some events of this type have been identified in the Ministry of Labor that are being addressed. These types of cases, which have not only been presented in this Ministry, demonstrate the need to advance in the ratification and implementation of ILO Convention 190 , in Colombia, which recognizes gender-based violence in the world of work”reported Mintrabajo, through a press release.
“The Ministry in its commitment to defend the rights of workers has ordered various actions, which include training, awareness, updating of its internal protocol, among others, in order to prevent, care for and protect victims of the alleged facts and guarantee transparency in the investigations that are carried out”added the entity.

Within the investigations, officials have been identified as incurring in this type of action, however, Because these are preliminary investigations and for the protection of the alleged victims, their identities are not revealed.
The labor portfolio is willing to accompany the complaints before the Attorney General’s Office and to determine the pertinent sanctions.
