Ministry of Transport and Public Works agrees support with local governments

The head of the portfolio, José Luis Falero, signed, this Friday the 22nd, a framework agreement for cooperation and technical advice for works with the authorities of Municipality F, in the department of Montevideo. The relationship with local governments and the contribution to the advancement of the decentralization process with technical and professional capacity is an objective of this government, he stressed.

Also participating in the signing of the agreement were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP), Juan José Olaizola; the national director of Architecture of that portfolio, Santiago Borsari; the mayor of Municipality F of Montevideo, Juan Pedro López, and municipal councillors.

Falero, in his speech, said that since assuming ministerial responsibility he has worked to coordinate with the different levels of government, to better manage the resources that the country has.

This type of agreement is the first made by the ministry with the third level of government, explained the minister, and clarified that they are initiatives that allow planned work to be carried out.

The ministry will carry out the repair, maintenance and conservation works that are of interest to the municipality in question, and will prepare projects and preliminary intervention projects. The execution will be carried out through two modalities: direct administration or hiring individuals. The municipality, for its part, will be in charge of the financing. Presidency
