The Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, inaugurated a detachment in the Bello Horizonte resort, at the request of the neighbors, and a Scientific Police center in Estación Atlántida. Both units are located in the department of Canelones.
The residents of Bello Horizonte made the request to have police personnel in the resort. In response to the request, the MI, with the collaboration of the support commission and the neighbors, reformed the premises that will be in charge of the 6th Section.
Heber stressed that all the units on the Gold Coast were enabled again. In that sense, he celebrated that there is now a police presence that helps the tranquility of the neighbors. He in turn explained that this revives the mobility and dynamism of the Police throughout the area.
Scientific Police at Atlántida Station
The opening of this operational center allows the provision of resources and personnel to be strategically managed to any point in the east of the department with greater speed. Incorporating also what is necessary for the investigation of the criminal acts that are committed.
He also highlighted the ability of the Scientific Police to solve complicated crimes and the benefits that this new office will bring.
The minister highlighted the importance of having a presence again in the places where police stations and detachments have been recovered, “because people have to have a place to go to raise problems and denounce them.” He added that “we have to have the presence, the infrastructure and mobility, patrolling and vigilant police presence. Which is what gives us the security and confidence of the population.”
